What counts as a "tune"?
A tune session is one end-to-end pass through the guided road-tune wizard — driving the prescribed conditions, getting AI-proposed cell-level corrections, reviewing them, and writing the ones you accept (with rollback if anything looks off). Looking at your live telemetry doesn't count. Reading tables doesn't count. Only an actual writing-changes-to-the-ECU session uses a tune.
Is Driveway Hero a subscription?
No. It's a one-time $99 purchase that unlocks 5 tune sessions on a single vehicle. No monthly bill, nothing to cancel. We figured most people dial in their car over 2-3 sessions and never need us again — so we priced the product around that, not around hoping you forget to cancel.
Do tunes expire?
Driveway Hero tunes do not expire. Once you buy the pack it sits on your account until you use it. Professional Installer tunes reset at each monthly billing cycle — unused tunes don't roll over.
What if I run out of tunes on Driveway Hero?
Buy another pack — same vehicle gets 5 more sessions for $99, or you can lock the pack to a different vehicle for $99. We don't upsell mid-session; we'll just tell you you've used your last tune and let you decide.
Why is the pack locked to one vehicle?
Because a tune that's right for one car is wrong for another. Pricing per-vehicle lines up with how the work actually maps to a build — engine, cam, injectors, the rest. Pros doing many cars pay for Professional Installer, which is designed for that.
How do overages work on Professional Installer?
Your $149/mo covers 5 vehicles. If you add a 6th vehicle in the same month, $20 is added to your invoice for that vehicle (regardless of how many of its 5 tune slots you use). A 7th vehicle is another $20, and so on. You can see your current month's overage in the account portal at any time.
Can I switch between Driveway Hero and Professional Installer?
Yes. Driveway Hero packs you already own stay on your account if you upgrade to Pro Installer (we apply them to the first vehicle you log under the shop plan). Downgrades just stop the monthly renewal — vehicles you tuned that month keep their tune history.
Can I get a refund?
Driveway Hero has a 14-day satisfaction window — if you haven't used any tunes and you can't get it working, email us for a full refund. Professional Installer has a 7-day free trial; after that, monthly billing follows standard SaaS rules. See our
Refund Policy.
What happens to my data if I stop using it?
Your account stays on the Free tier. Vehicle profiles, tune snapshots, and session history remain available for export indefinitely. We don't delete your tune history just because you stopped buying. See our
Privacy Policy.
Do you sell to outside the US?
Yes — Stripe Checkout supports cards from 135+ countries. Prices shown are USD. Local taxes are calculated at checkout where required (e.g., EU VAT).
